Parish Notices
Many thanks to Pauline, Christine, Chris R, Dionne & Brenda for their help with serving refreshment at the Orsett Show yesterday. It was a lovely day and the Deanery marquee was busy all day offering face painting, colouring, balloon modelling as well as tea and coffee.

All PCC members are reminded about the diocesan training day next Sat 8th at E. London University, 9:30am – 4:30pm – see Andy to book.

Hopefully everyone will have had the opportunity of seeing the poppies that are being made from the plastic bottles that you have been collecting. The plan is to make hundreds of these poppies for the armistice weekend in November marking the end of WW1. If you would like to help with this mammoth task, please go along to North Stifford village hall on Wed Sept 12th at 1:30pm when we are hoping lots of people will turn up ready to get involved.

We are delighted to say that the kitchen in the parish hall has now been completely refurbished and we hope that everyone will think that the disruption has been worth it. Most of the money for this came from a very generous legacy left to us by Jean Miller and we hope that we will be able to recognise this, with a plaque, very soon.

A couple of weeks ago we recognised those who were to be recognised as Authorised Lay Preachers, but forgot to note Brenda S in this notice sheet… she won’t get away that easily! Also many thanks to her, for coordinating the use of St Cedd’s whilst the Parish Hall kitchen was being installed and preparing it for reopening today.

How about a day at the seaside? Eileen K. has organised a day trip to Margate next Fri 7th Sept, leaving Headon Hall about 9am, return at approx. 6pm depending on traffic. Once there, you will be able to spend the day entirely as you wish, so we will look forward to hearing about your adventures in Dreamland – if it’s still there! Tickets are £15 and if you would like to go, please see Eileen. (01375 370198).

For those who knew Neil & Elaine Duddy, former members of the fellowship, they are planning to visit St. Mary’s on Sun 9th Sept, with their children Ethan & Eve.

Foodbank is looking for volunteers to help handing out fliers to encourage donations outside Morrisons, in Grays on Sat 15th Sept from 9am-5pm. If you can help for any time during these hours, please email Sarah on sarahcordell@Thurrock.Foodbank.org.uk
Shortages this week include Long life Fruit Juice, Tea Bags, Pasta Sauce, Tinned Fish or Fruit, Sponge Puddings and Cooking Sauces. They are also very low on toiletries. Please remember that Foodbank cannot use any donations bought from a chiller cabinet. Thank you for your help with this.
