    Parish Notices:

As we explained last week, because Clive is not only our new Rector, but also the vicar of St. John’s in Victoria Avenue, he will now be looking after two church families in 3 church buildings, and this will inevitably mean some changes to our pattern of worship. Therefore, our new pattern of Sunday worship for the rest of this month will be as follows:

    All Services start at 10.30am

    2nd October St.Cedd’s Family Worship - Anne & Brenda

9th October St. Mary’s Holy Communion with Rev Clive

16th October St. Mary’s Morning worship with Rev Cathy

23rd October St. Cedd’s Holy Communion with Rev Clive

30th October St. John’s Holy Communion with Rev Clive

(The 30th October is the 5th Sunday of the month and on each 5th Sunday we plan to hold a joint Holy Communion taking it in turns between each of our three church buildings and starting at St. John’s.)

I know that we will all hold Clive & Carol and the church family of St. John’s in prayer as we face these changes and look forward to our joint future together.

    Clive’s contact details are:01375 372101

We have also had a lovely message from Andy & Sue giving us their new address: 4 The Oaks, Mountlea Country Park,PAR

PL24 2JS. It sounds idyllic – on their moving day, they stopped unpacking at 3pm and went off for lunch at a pub on the beach – in the sunshine! They don’t have a landline as yet but can still be contacted on their mobile numbers which have not changed.

For those reading this in advance, a reminder of the following:

    Equipping for dementia

Is there a chance you might meet someone suffering dementia? The answer is surely ‘yes’. Do you know how best to help? Well there is a one hour Dementia Friends training at St John’s at 9.30 on 15th October. Just turn up.

    Equipping for welcoming

Following on after the Dementia Friends training, at 10:30 there will be training for anyone involved in welcoming people to church (hint: that’s all of us). Both of these training sessions are open to people from all local churches.
